The 3 Stages of Jihad

David Wood explains the three stages of jihad and how Muslims use the concept of the takkiya to lie and deceive Westerners so that they can keep defending the cause of Islam.

Many Mohammedans or Mahoundians as I sometimes call those people, both those living in the Western world and those who live in other parts of the world quick to point to passages such as Qur’an 109:6 (“You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion”) and 2:256 (“There is no compulsion in religion”) as evidence that Islam is a religion of peace.

When confronted with harsher passages such as 9:5 (“Slay the idolaters wherever you find them”) and 9:29 (“Fight those who believe not in Allah”), Westernized Muslims interpret these verses in light of the more peaceful teachings of the Qur’an, typically saying something like: “Well, the Qur’an can’t be commanding us to kill unbelievers, since it says that there’s no compulsion in religion. Liberals and Libertarians alike are quick to defend and protect Islam from criticism out of the fear of being called names. The call to Jihad has three stages.

STAGE ONE—When Muslims are completely outnumbered and can’t possibly win a physical confrontation with unbelievers, they are to live in peace with non-Muslims and preach a message of tolerance. We see an example of this stage when Muhammad and his followers were a persecuted minority in Mecca.

STAGE TWO—When there are enough Muslims and resources to defend the Islamic community, Muslims are called to engage in defensive Jihad.

STAGE THREE—When Muslims establish a majority and achieve political power in an area, they are commanded to engage in offensive Jihad. Hence, once Mecca and Arabia were under Muhammad’s control, he received the call the fight all unbelievers. In Surah 9:29....

The terrorists, thought to be from Boko Haram, set a locked hostel on fire, before shooting and slitting the throats of those who tried to climb out the windows. Some were burned alive. Adamu Garba said he and other teachers who ran away through the bush estimate 40 students died in the assault that began around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Federal Government College at Buni Yadi.

At one hostel, he said: ‘Students were trying to climb out of the windows and they were slaughtered like sheep by the terrorists who slit their throats. Others who ran were gunned down.’ He said students who could not escape were burned alive The attackers also reportedly hurled explosives into student residential buildings, sprayed gunfire into rooms and hacked a number students to death. A senior medical source at the Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital in Yobe’s capital Damaturu said the gunmen only targeted male students and that female students were ‘spared’. ‘So far, 43 bodies have been brought (from the college) and are lying at the morgue,’ said the source, who requested anonymity as he was not authorised to discuss death tolls. Damaturu resident Babagoni Musa told AFP that four ambulances carrying dead bodies drove past his shop, which falls on the road from Buni Yadi.

‘They had tree branches on them which is a sign used here to signify a corpse is in a vehicle,’ he said. People whose relatives were studying at the college had surrounded the morgue and were desperately seeking information about those killed, forcing the military to take control of the building to restore calm, the hospital source said. Yobe is one of three northeastern states which was placed under emergency rule in May last year when the military launched a massive operation to crush the Boko Haram uprising.

At least 40 students were killed in September at an agriculture training college in Yobe after Boko Haram gunmen stormed a series of dorms in the middle of the night and sprayed gunfire on sleeping students.

Inside a Terrorist's Mind

Prior to his assassination, Salah Shehadeh discussed the logistics of terror operations against Israelis.

On July 23, 2002, the IDF dropped a bomb on a Gaza apartment building, killing terrorist leader Salah Shehadeh, commander of the 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

The following interview with Shehadeh was published by Islam Online on May 29, 2002.

Aish.com presents the interview as a curious look into a terrorist's mind.

Q: How do you choose who will carry out a martyrdom operation?

Shehadeh: The choice is made according to four criteria: First, devout religious observance. Second, we verify that the young man complies with his parents' wishes and is loved by his family, and that his martyrdom will not [adversely] affect family life ? that is, he is not the head of the family and he has siblings, as we will not take an only child. Third, his ability to carry out the task assigned [to] him, and to understand its gravity; and fourth, his martyrdom should encourage others to carry out martyrdom operations and encourage Jihad in the hearts of people. We always prefer unmarried [men]. It is the regional leadership of the military apparatus of the Hamas movement that proposes his candidacy, and then decides whether to accept him.

Q: How do you account for the stream of youths [coming] to join the ranks of perpetrators of martyrdom operations? And does this attest to [mental] health, or to escape from the frustration and disappointment among the Palestinians?

Shehadeh: The stream of youths [who seek to] attain martyrdom shows [mental] health and the awareness of Palestinian society, and is not a mistake or an escape from a situation of despair or frustration. Many people come to Jihad, and they are willing to lay down their souls ? which is the most precious thing a man has. There is a vast difference between someone who sacrifices money or an offering, and someone who sacrifices his soul for the sake of Allah to bring happiness to the nation, and to remove its torment and distress.

Nevertheless, we cannot provide everyone with a martyrdom operation because the targets are limited and the enemy positions we want to reach are highly fortified. If some of the youths do not follow the military apparatus's instructions, and [set out on operations on their own] without being linked officially to this apparatus, this proves that the [entire] nation has become a nation of Jihad on the threshold of liberation, and that it rejects humiliation and submission.

Q: How does the military apparatus choose a target?

Shehadeh: We have surveillance groups whose role is to monitor Israeli and settler patrols and the movement of the enemy on the border. We utilize every breach we find in the enemy's security fence. Afterwards we define the target and the nature of the assault on it, whether it is a settlement, a military post, a military vehicle, or anything else. The target is filmed, and then [the video] is shown to a committee appointed by the General Staff of the Military Operations. After the target is approved, the martyrdom operation's perpetrator is trained... Then the operation is ready to go, after a group of experts approves the plan and determines the factors for its success or failure.

Q: What about killing Israeli citizens?

Shehadeh: We do not target children, the elderly, and places of worship, although these places of worship incite to murdering Muslims. Similarly, we have not targeted schools, because we do not give orders to kill children. The same goes for hospitals, although this is easy for us, and attainable. We act according to the principles of Jihad to which we adhere. Our motto is: “We are not fighting the Jews because they are Jews, but because they occupy our land.

We are not fighting them because of their religion but because they have usurped our land.” If we kill a child it is not intentional...

Q: How much does a martyrdom operation cost?

Shehadeh: The cost of an operation varies... Attack operations with automatic weapons cost the price of the weapon, which hold at least 250 rounds, and of the ammunition, and the price of about 10 hand grenades. But some of the operations cost much more and include transporting [the perpetrator]... buying a car, and bribing Jewish collaborators. There are operations that cost a great deal ? between $3,500-$50,000, in accordance with the target.

Q: How did you develop the weapons that the 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades have come to excel at manufacturing, such as the Al-Qassam 1 and Al-Qassam 2 and the and the Al-Bana [rockets]?

Shehadeh: ...We have scientists who specialize in weapons development, who are today studying and conducting experiments on the Al-Bana rocket, which is a combination of an RPG and a LAW [light anti-tank weapon], and differs from the Al-Qassam 2 because it is designed for moderately thick armor. Hand grenades are manufactured to meet the needs of the apparatus and its members, and they have proved their efficiency, and [even] the Zionist Defense Ministry attests that they are powerful grenades. All the grenades and rockets are locally manufactured, easily and simply. The explosives in the Al-Qassam 1 and 2 and the Al Bana are made from simple raw materials. [Even] the women can make them at home...

Q: What about the organizational structure of the 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades?

Shehadeh: In general, the brigades are a small army subject to political decisions, like any [other] army in the world. It has all the kinds of divisions and structures that an army has. We are soldiers. The political apparatus does not tell us, 'Do such and such' and 'Carry out this or that operation'; the political apparatus is sovereign over the military apparatus, and a decision of the political [echelon] takes precedence over the decision of the military [echelon], without intervening in military operations. The success of an operation is not defined by the number of enemy dead, but by the extent to which our Jihad fighters managed to reach the target, and by the operation's execution. Good planning is vital for the operation's success. The number of dead depends on the will of Allah.

Q: What are the obstacles that the Al-Qassam Brigades face?

Sh'hadeh: The most significant obstacles are the scarcity of good-quality weapons, such as anti-aircraft and long-range missiles. Another significant obstacle is the haze obscuring the political position of the National [Palestinian] Authority. This causes confusion in the military wing [because] it does not set a [clear] position regarding the military operations ― that is, whether it is for them or against them.

Is it an authority for national liberation, or an authority for autonomy?
This matter confuses many Jihad fighters. In addition, weapons prices have been raised by the bloodsucker arms dealers, so the price of an M-16 has reached $5,000, and each of its bullets now costs $1.50, and a Kalashnikov costs $2,000, and each of its bullets costs $4.00. The military apparatus has managed to meet the challenge of weapons scarcities by collecting donations from people who love supporting the path of Jihad for the sake of Allah.

Similarly, the movement has succeeded in manufacturing some of the intermediate weaponry, thus reducing costs. The cost of a rocket [made by the movement] is less than 1 percent of its cost if we had to buy it.

Liberalism Fuels Radical Islamism

That’s Anjem Choudary, spiritual leader of Muslims Against Crusades, a Britain-based radical Islamist organisation which was banned last Thursday by Home Secretary Theresa May, rallying round his forces. Muslims Against Crusades has been in the forefront of seeking to convert London into Londonistan, aggressively and belligerently. With the ban in effect, membership of Muslims Against Crusades would be deemed a criminal offence which could fetch violators a 10-year jail term. But that’s unlikely to prove to be much of a deterrent. Like the Lashkar-e-Tayyeba in Pakistan, which morphed into Jamaat-ud-Dawa’h and then into Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool to avoid ban-linked sanctions, Muslims Against Crusades will soon resurface with a new identity and old faces, including that of Anjem Choudary.

After all Anjem Choudary, a British-born Muslim whose parents had migrated to the United Kingdom presumably seeking a better life and who really has no reason (deprivation, denial, discrimination — the usual causes trotted out by Left-liberal apologists of Islamic fanaticism) to turn into a vicious and vile propagandist of radical Islamism’s ideology of hate, is a past master at the game of defying proscription through deceit. A trained lawyer, he uses the law, meant to protect democracy and liberty, to Britain’s disadvantage. He began his journey into the dark, joyless world of Islamism under the guidance of the chief of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Syrian-born mullah Omar Bakri Muhammad who lived off Britain’ social welfare system while plotting to destroy the country that fed him. Together they launched Al Muhajiroun.

The organisation was banned for openly espousing the cause of terrorists and glorifying suicide-terrorism as a valiant act by the ‘soldiers of god’. Soon after Al Muhajiroun was banned, Bakri fled Britain to avoid arrest, prosecution and a long stint in jail. Undeterred, Anjem Choudary went on to found Al Ghurabaa, which too was banned. Since then he has floated a series of organisations to avoid subsequent proscriptions: Al Ghurabaa was followed by Islam4UK, Call to Submission, Islamic Path, London School of Shari’ah and The Saved Sect which was also known as the Saviour Sect.

Muslims Against Crusades is Anjem Choudary’s most recent organisation. The day it was banned, the organisation’s website hosted a statement inciting British Muslims against the Government: “The banning of Muslims Against Crusades by Home Secretary Theresa May is a great victory for Islam and Muslims and highlights the sheer hatred the British Government has towards sincere Muslims who wish to peacefully speak out against policies that are (from every angle) anti-Islam and anti-Muslim.” Its intent can only be overlooked by those who see merit in mollycoddling fanatics in the guise of promoting liberal Britain’s experiment with bogus ‘multi-culturalism’ whose toxic fumes now threaten to choke and kill the very basis of British democracy: An open society that guarantees freedom and liberty.

The British Home Office knows that the statement issued by Muslims Against Crusades mocking at the ban order is not empty rhetoric. Yet, there’s little it can do than to wait for the hydra-headed monster to sprout a new head before slicing that off too. Muslims Against Crusades was “simply another name for an organisation already proscribed under a number of names”, Ms May said after issuing the ban order, adding, “The organisation was proscribed in 2006 for glorifying terrorism and we are clear it should not be able to continue these activities by simply changing its name.” Ostensibly the ban follows a threat by Muslims Against Crusades to disrupt Armistice Day celebrations, but that may not be entirely true. A far more compelling reason would be its crude (and frightening) effort to impose shari’ah in those London areas where Muslims have a sizeable presence.

Earlier this year, east Londoners woke up one cold morning to find the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Newham plastered with posters that declared: “You are entering a shari’ah-controlled zone — Islamic rules enforced.” The posters also mentioned that smoking, alcohol and music were prohibited in these “shari’ah-controlled zones”. People reacted with horror, but local councils were more indulgent, laughing it off as a prank and promising to take down the posters. It was not a laughing matter, as was found recently when Dr Mike Freer, MP for Finchley and Golders Green, had to lock himself in his own surgery when confronted by a Muslims Against Crusades mob baying for his blood. He was luridly described as a “Jewish homosexual pig”. On September 11, a large crowd of Muslims Against Crusades members staged a noisy protest outside the US Embassy in London, chanting “Death to Americans!” and raising slogans glorifying Osama bin Laden.

Meanwhile, Anjem Choudary has decided to carry on his crusade against Christians, Jews and Hindus and fulfil his dream of planting the flag of Islam atop Westminster by flooding social media platforms with his evil thoughts. He is often spotted on Twitter (where his account describes him as “a Muslim who believes that Islam is something we must believe in (tawheed), live by (shari’ah) and struggle and sacrifice for (by way of daw’ah and jihad)”, tweeting furiously about taking his jihad to its logical conclusion. His tweets have been compiled by MEMRI, from which I reproduce the most anodyne and least offensive:

* Those who want to support the publication of “Charlie Hebdo” who insulted the Messenger Mohammed must take lessons from Theo Van Gogh!
* If being suspected of directing a criminal network is enough to target someone (Osama bin Laden) for killing without charge, what about President Barak Obama?
* I think Cameron & Obama are dictators, so what’s the solution? How would you like it if we started bombing Washington & London to remove them?
* What is the legacy of 9/11? Were the 3000 innocent? Were the 19 martyrs? What are the positive outcomes of 9/11? Find out at the US Embassy! September 11, 2011.
* 10 years after 9/11 the USA/UK economies collapse & their soldiers increasingly return in body bags so we can safely say ‘YOU LOST THE WAR’!
* Greece should adopt the shari’ah: Use the Golden Dinar and eradicate inflation. Ban gambling/porn/shares/alcohol/usury.
* Once Egypt adopts the shari’ah, the total liberation of Palestine & the return of all Jews to where they came (from) will be the next step forward!

What is it about Left-liberalism that breeds such hatred? How come Britain, the mother of democracies, has to confront such malcontents? Is it decades of turning a Nelson’s eye to the criminal deeds of Anjem Choudary and his ilk so as to appear to be tolerant and accommodating? Or is it because like much of Europe, Britain has been corroded from within by those of its men and women who have rejected faith in Christianity — and its values — to embrace secular libertarianism?

The Unprecedented Persecution of Christians

“It’s just the beginning.” That’s what one of the attackers said while bombing a church in eastern Kenya last week. Two people were killed and three others injured in the attack, which authorities believe was carried out by the al-Qaida-linked militant group al-Shabab.

This month at least 65 people were killed in the city of Damaturu in northeastern Nigeria, when Islamist insurgents bombed churches, mosques and police stations. The Boko Haram militant sect claimed responsibility.

In October, government soldiers opened fire on a church in Bhamo District in Kachin state in Burma, just as the congregation was preparing for Sunday services. No one was injured in the gunfire, but the soldiers burned the property and detained five church leaders.

In Somalia, a 17-year-old Christian was beheaded this past September by Islamist extremists. The boy’s parents, who hold a Bible study in their home, had left for work and he was getting ready to go to school.

Compass Direct News reports that a 30-year-old Christian teacher was deported from Maldives after authorities discovered a Bible in his house in October of this year. The Indian teacher had lived and taught in Raa Atool for two years before his deportation.

In October the government of Kazakhstan enacted new legislation, which further restricts religious freedom. All registered churches must now re-register with the government, and only churches meeting the new criteria will be approved.

The Indonesia Pentecost Church in Sumedang, Indonesia, was closed on Oct. 3 for using an illegal building permit, and its pastor was arrested. According to the Jakarta Christian Communication Forum, at least 30 churches have been closed or burned in Indonesia in 2011, and many church leaders have been arrested.

On Oct. 27, a 25-year-old Somali Christian refugee was beaten and left for dead by six men. The man, known as Hassan, was beaten with an iron rod and stabbed. His attackers then stripped off his clothing and dumped him at the entrance to a Presbyterian Church of East Africa building.

Persecution of Christians did not end in the fourth century with Constantine. In fact, it has been estimated that more Christians were killed in the twentieth century than in the previous nineteen centuries combined. And the 21st century, as these recent occurrences suggest, has not gotten off to a very promising start, either.

Recognizing that Christians were suffering unprecedented persecution worldwide, the World Evangelical Fellowship launched the first International Day of Prayer in 1996. Each year on the second Sunday in November, millions of Christians around the world join together to pray for fellow-believers who are being persecuted.

These Christians take seriously the biblical injunction to: “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:3).

Besides prayer, people can help the persecuted by writing letters to government officials, appealing for the release of specific prisoners. In some cases it is possible to write directly to persecuted believers who are in prison. Check out www.prisoneralert.com for more information.

There are numerous organizations that serve the persecuted. Some provide blankets, Bibles and other goods to Christians living in restricted nations. Others help interested persons become advocates for the imprisoned. For a list of agencies, check out www.persecutedchurch.org.

Daniel Lewin (Levin) - An Israeli Hero Of Flight 11 on Sept 11, 2001

Excerpt from "Year to the Twin Towers Disaster" Yediot Ahronot, Seven Days Magazine Section 6 September 2002. Translation by IMRA:

"Danny Lewin was the first victim of the biggest attack in history that morning, in which almost 3,000 people died. An internal memorandum of the Federal Aviation Administration sets that in the course of a struggle that took place between Lewin, a graduate of Israel's elite commando unit, Sayeret Matkal , and the four hijackers who were assaulting that cockpit, Lewin was murdered by Satam Al Suqami, a 25 year old Saudi.

Some time after the attack the Lewin family in Jerusalem received a telephone call from the FBI offices in New York. On the line was the agent responsible for the investigation of the attack on Flight 11. He told Peggy and Charles Lewin that there is a high degree of certainty that their son Danny tried to prevent the hijacking. The FBI relied, among other things, on the testimony of the stewardess Amy Sweeney.

Sweeney called Michael Woodward, the flight services supervisor in Boston, from the rear of the plane: "a hijacker slit the throat of a passenger in business class and the passenger appears to me to be dead." To this day the American investigators are not convinced that Danny Lewin was murdered on the spot. An additional stewardess, Betty Ong, who succeeded in calling from a telephone by one of the passenger seats, said that the passenger who was attacked from business class seat 10B was seriously wounded.

The Lewin family, Danny' parents and brothers, have no doubt that Danny battled the hijackers. And it is for them a tremendous consolation. "I wasn't surprised to hear from the FBI that Danny fought. I was sure that this is what he would do," Yonatan, his younger brother, said. "Danny didn' t sit quietly. From what we heard from the Americans, the hijackers attacked one of the stewardesses and Danny rose to protect her and prevent them from entering the cockpit. It is a consolation to us that Danny fought. We see it as an act of heroism that a person sacrifices his life in order to save others. An act of heroism that everyone should do at such an instance and particularly suitable for Danny."

That battle in the business section ended quickly. Lewin was overcome and bled to death on the floor. Two additional flight attendants were knifed and the captain was murdered. The hijackers were already inside the cockpit. They announced to the passengers to remain quiet in their seats.

Islamic Terror Attacks on American Soil

Following the horrific carnage in the name of Allah on 9/11, only one Muslim in America was killed in a vigilante "revenge" attack. That would be Waqar Hasan, a Muslim convenience storeowner who was gunned down by Mark Anthony Stroman in Texas. Hardly an average American, Stroman was a white supremacist with a felony criminal record who went on to shoot two more people in the following weeks. However, he did claim to be motivated by anger after having watched the twin towers fall.

Thankfully, an American jury sentenced Mark Stroman to death. The same cannot be said of many Muslim terrorists such as Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, who not only have sanctuary in Muslim countries, but are often treated as heroes by devout followers of Muhammad.

Of course, 9/11 was neither the first nor the last time that Muslims have killed Americans on U.S. soil in terror attacks. In fact, since that day, Muslims have killed at least 58 people in 33 separate acts of terrorism in the United States (by the standards that Muslim-American groups set for hate crimes). Perhaps more importantly, there plenty of planned mass murders of Americans by Islamic terrorists that were thwarted by the FBI, law enforcement and overseas intelligence operations both before and after 9/11, as well as several that were simply botched, such as the attempt to blow up Times Square.

By contrast, Muslim-Americans do not appear to be in any special danger from murderous (non-Muslim) religious fanatics, even in a nation awash in firearms. Identity groups, such as CAIR, whine incessantly about relatively trivial incidents while turning a blind eye to the horrible violence that is meted out daily in the name of their religion. This distasteful petulance offers insight not only into the character of Islam, but also the impressive religious tolerance that Americans manage to maintain.

The Muslim Wall of Silence

The inaptly dubbed “War on Terror” continues to run up an ever-higher body count. In the nearly ten years since 9-11, the so-called “Religion of Peace” has racked up over 17,000 deadly attacks, killing tens of thousands all over the globe (all carefully documented by the indefatigable folks at aptly-named site The Religion of Peace). With the body count ratcheting ever higher on a daily basis, why do many if not the majority of Muslims seem so indifferent to the carnage, or worse, even enthusiastic about the never-ending bloodshed committed in the name of Islam? In fact, Muslims have proven themselves highly resistant to the idea of criticizing their coreligionists, no matter what outrage has been committed.

For a Malaysian example of this disturbing behaviour, let’s examine the Malaysian reactions to the passing of Dr. Azahari Husin in 2005. Doctor Azahari — a former Malaysian university professor — was a committed jihadist and chief bombmaker for the terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah. As you may recall, he was directly implicated in both Bali bombings (2002 and 2005), the JW Mariott hotel bombing in Jakarta in 2003, and the Australian embassy bombing in Jakarta in 2004. Azahari was in fact an unrepentant mass murderer, responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people. But, as his family and the Malaysian media would have it, he was also supposedly a ‘genuinely warm and caring kind of guy’ who selflessly went to serve a ‘higher cause’.

Here is the kind of spin his family put on the ‘fondly remembered’ Doctor Azahari, as was published verbatim in a Malaysian newspaper at the time (link unavailable):

…in his family, he was a respected big brother whose skills in Maths and zest for sports were a source of inspiration to his nine siblings. Azahari Husin’s sister, Suraya, 45, recalled that her brother loved cowboy movies and thought girls were “soppy”. … He loved the outdoors and once hitchhiked on a lorry from the premier Malay College (in) Kuala Kangsar, where he studied, to his home in Jasin as a teenager. When he studied in Australia, he took motorcycle excursions across the desert. He loved orchids and sports cars.

And while the family found plenty of wonderful memories to share with the sympathetic Malaysian media, there was nary a trace of condemnation of the late doctor’s multi-year murder spree. Azahari’s family did have this to say about the notorious terrorist in the family:

“… our family and friends never interfered with what my brother did. That’s the integrity of our family,” said (a younger sister of Dr Azahari Husin.) … “People can say what they want, but I know my brother,” she said when pressed for comments by newsmen at her house in Jalan Chin Chin here yesterday.

Azahari also received a hero’s send-off at his funeral in his hometown of Jasin, a small town several hours’ drive south of the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony attracted some 600 well wishers, who repeatedly chanted ‘Allahu akbar’ during the funeral. Many present at the ceremony also voiced skepticism of Azahari’s role as a top terrorist. “Azahari will always have friends here. We shouldn’t be asked to believe what is written about him in the newspapers,” said one man who refused to identify himself.

These are very curious reactions all around, at the very least. Given multiple opportunities to condemn terrorism, and to pronounce how un-Islamic all this terrorism supposedly is, Azahari’s family, friends and neighbours all refused to so state. Rather the opposite, actually — in particular, Azahari’s sister said for the record that family and friends “…never interfered with what my brother did”. This is a disturbingly noncommittal thing to say about a man intimately involved in carrying out mass murder, and for conspiring to commit even more mass murder. Indeed, it could even be construed as approval.

Compare the (at best) tepid response of the Azahari family and other Malaysian Muslims to the response of another family that had one of its own become a mass murderer — the family of Cho Seung Hui. Cho, as many no doubt remember, was a Korean American who murdered 32 people in 2007 at a university in Virginia before taking his own life. In the aftermath of this devastating tragedy, the family issued a powerful and eloquent statement to the world and to the relatives of the victims. This statement reads, in part:

On behalf of our family, we are so deeply sorry for the devastation my brother has caused. No words can express our sadness that 32 innocent people lost their lives this week in such a terrible, senseless tragedy. We are heartbroken. … We pray for their families and loved ones who are experiencing so much excruciating grief. And we pray for those who were injured and for those whose lives are changed forever because of what they witnessed and experienced.

It is telling that despite their shock, grief and unimaginable horror, the Cho family managed to compose and release this brief, but articulate public statement. In no uncertain terms, it makes it clear how the Cho family felt about the actions of their loved one, a loved one who, like Azahari Husin, mercilessly slaughtered so many. And still, this one simple statement is light years ahead of anything ever spoken by any of the family or friends of Dr. Azahari.

Why is it that to this day the Azahari family has chosen to say nothing even remotely similar? And in a more general vein, why haven’t any of the families of the 9-11 hijackers (who mostly reside in the supposed US ally Saudi Arabia) issued statements like the Cho family? Or the families of the countless other jihadists who have committed more than 17,000 acts of murder and mayhem in the past ten years? Where are their apologies? Indeed, why do all of these Muslim families to this day steadfastly refuse to denounce the unspeakable crimes of their loved ones?

The explanation for this wall of silence is simple yet troubling: while a lot of Muslims may talk of peaceful co-existence, in actuality they tacitly approve of what Islamic terrorists do. These terrorists are, rather often, lionized as heroes in the Islamic world.

Now, it is admittedly true that some Muslim groups have come forward to denounce Islamic terror. But for every Muslim or Muslim group that publicly comes forward, many others choose not to. And considering what sort of hateful, Quranically inspired rhetoric is being preached in many if not most American mosques nowadays, how can we trust that these Muslim condemnations that are heard are anything close to sincere?

The official policy of Muslim countries like Malaysia is to condemn Islamic terrorism. When need be — often right after a spectacular Muslim terrorist attack — Muslim countries and organisations are quick to release generalised, pro-forma, mealy-mouthed condemnations of ‘terrorism’. Strangely enough, however, they can never get around to disavowing Hamas, Hizbullah, Al Qaeda, etc. specifically and by name. Even if such pronouncements disavowed any group specifically, the feelings expressed in the Muslim media and by the Muslims themselves have shown how worthless Muslim denouncements of terrorism really are.

Many naive Westerners are convinced that all these pro-terrorist attitudes will fade away once economic prosperity comes to the Islamic world. It’s important to remember that many, perhaps most middle and upper class Muslims are firmly in favor of Islamic terrorism. Underscoring this truth is the fact that many Islamic terrorists hail from educated, prosperous middle and upper class families — Osama bin Laden was from the richest non-royal family in Saudi Arabia, and New York Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad’s father is an air vice marshal in Pakistan’s Air Force, to name but two examples.

So let’s just face the fact that, if you are a non Muslim — and most people on the planet are — a whole lot of Muslims want you dead or converted to Islam…unless you’re Jewish, in which case, only dead will do.

But don’t just take my word for it. You can look it up…in the Muslim media.

Islam, the Religion of Peace, and Terrorism

I've got an Email from Muslim:

"Truthfully your condeming of our faith would probably have you warned, and if you persisted, would have consequences, of which i am not sure. But there have been cases where people have been put to death for MALICIOUSLY harming the image of our noble master Muhammad, the best creation of God. But you fail to see that islam means peace, just as when we meet each other and say 'assalamu alaikum' 'peace be upon you' to our brothers. We are a tolerant religion, and our communities have and still have many faiths still practicing their own religions in islamic land. From the time of the prophet up until today."

The preceding quote was received via e-mail from a Muslim. Notice that he says Islam is a religion of peace, yet that there would be "consequences" for me in my condemnation of Islam. He then mentions how people have been killed for harming the image of Mohammed. Quite frankly, Mohammed damages his own image when he marries multiple women, advocates lying, and spreads his religion by the sword.

Nevertheless, is Islam a religion of peace? Many of its advocates say that it is. Let's see what the Qur'an actually says.

1. The Qur'an tells muslims to kill and go to war to fight for Islam: Quran, chapters (Surahs) 9:5; 2:191; 2:193; 3:118; 4:75,76; 5:33, 8:12; 8:65; 9:73,123; 33:60-62.

2. Fight for Allah: "And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers, (Quran 2:191).

3. Muslims are to battle for Allah: "Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil's strategy is ever weak," (Quran 4:76).

4. Kill those against Islam: "The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter," (Quran 5:33).

5. Beheading: "When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger. That is because they opposed Allah and His messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is severe in punishment," (Quran 8:12).

6. Allah urges war: "O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand," (Quran 8:65).

7. Slay non-muslims: "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful," (Quran 9:5).

8. Allah urges war: "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination," (Quran 9:73).

9. Allah urges war: "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil)," (Quran 9:123)

10. Allah urges killing: "...the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the agitators in the city do not desist... Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering. (Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah, (Quran 33:60-62).

11. Beheading: "Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens..." (Quran 47:4).

12. Allah loves those who fight for him: "Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure," (Quran 61:4).

As you can see, the Qur'an definitely teaches that it's people are to fight for the cause of Islam. This list of verses is important because they are within the holy book of Islam. What are we to conclude if a Muslim is to take the Quran seriously? Is he not obligated to slay non-Muslims, to go to war, to kill those against Islam, etc.? Isn't this what the verses are teaching? Yes, they are and this is the source of Islamic Terrorism.

Salvation

In Islam, there is no guarantee of salvation except in one instance, dying in Jihad. Jihad is the struggle, the battle against those who would oppose Islam and what Islam stands for. This is very important because in the Muslim religion, there is no guarantee of salvation. Please consider the following verses:

Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,- Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. (Surah 101:6-9)

In Islam, there is no assurance that the Muslim will be forgiven of his sins. As you can see, the Quran teaches a system of works righteousness. Therefore, no Muslim can ever know whether or not he has done enough good in order to please Allah. This is a burden that many Muslims do not like to bear.

Jihad

If we can see that the Islamic system of salvation based upon works cannot guarantee salvation, but fighting in jihad can, and we could see why Muslims terrorists would be eager to die (and take others with them) for the cause of their religion. It is the only way they can be guaranteed paradise. It is this fundamental principle in Islam that encourages terrorism.

* "Let those fight in the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory - Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value)." (4:74, Yusifali).

* "Allah's Apostle said, "Allah guarantees (to the person who carries out Jihad in His Cause and nothing compelled him to go out but Jihad in His Cause and the belief in His Word) that He will either admit him into Paradise (Martyrdom) or return him with reward or booty he has earned to his residence from where he went out," (Hadith Vol. 9, Book 93, # 555).

Solving Poverty - The Islamic Way

A well known Islamic leader in Egypt by the name of Abu Ishak Al Huweini, who often appears on Egyptian TV, has recently said the following in Arabic and I have translated it into English:

“We are at a time of Jihad; Jihad for the sake of Allah is a pleasure, a true pleasure. Mohammed’s followers used to compete to do it. The reason we are poor now is because we have abandoned jihad. If only we can conduct a jihadist invasion at least once a year or if possible twice or three times, then many people on Earth would become Muslims. And if anyone prevents our dawa or stands in our way, then we must kill them or take as hostage and confiscate their wealth, women and children. Such battles will fill the pockets of the Mujahid who can return home with 3 or 4 slaves, 3 or 4 women and 3 or 4 children. This can be a profitable business if you multiply each head by 300 or 400 dirham,. This can be like financial shelter whereby a jihadist, in time of financial need, can always sell one of these heads (meaning slavery). When I heard this audio message, I could not believe my ears. This is nothing short of barbaric and medieval preaching by a powerful Muslim leader in Egypt who has access to public TV and the ears of millions. This sheikh, who is at least honest and unapologetic about what jihad means, is also promoting the true model and example of the prophet Mohammed in the 7th and what he did to non-Muslims, as an example for all Muslims to follow today. Isn’t that the role of a prophet, to be the example to his followers?

It is difficult for Muslims to run away from their religious history, which is documented over and over again in Islamic books. Mohammed himself said, probably with pride, that he was made wealthy through terror. That preacher is just a good follower of Islam and that is why he is advocating the same kind of behavior. Hey, the plan made Mohammed rich, so why not let it be the formula for all Muslims today? What used to be whispered about Mohammed’s behavior and only discussed among the learned men of Islam is openly advocated today in public in a world where the ugly truth can no longer be hidden.

This audio has shocked some Muslims who are in denial about the history of Islam and the true meaning of jihad, which is defined as a war against non-Muslims to establish the religion and after the fight seize their property, women, children, enslave them and sell them like cattle. According to pure Muslims, what was the model for Muslims in the 7th century is now their model in the 21st century.

In another segment posted on youtube the same sheikh, Al Huweini, blamed Christians for all the violence going on today in Egypt. According to him, it is Christians who are responsible for their own murder, robbing and burning of their churches, businesses and homes. At a time of civil unrest in Egypt, Muslim preachers are openly promoting violence against non-Muslims. This sheikh is not the only one, but the internet is full of others with a similar shameless twisted message. One other Salafi Egyptian sheikh announced that he will not leave a church without searching by force to take out a couple of Christian women whom they allege having converted to Islam. The fact that these women made statements to the contrary and that one is married to a Coptic priest does not matter to the Muslim preachers or the mob. They want to take her out and annul her marriage to a Christian, which is allowed under Islamic law. Jihadists are never out of outrageous excuses to do their dirty work.

Al Haweini, who ironically speaks on Al-Hikma (Wisdom) TV station, has made it his authority and expertise to advise post-revolution Egypt, on economic matters. His brilliant economic advice to the interim government was again inspired by the example of the prophet Mohammed whom he said had forced the collection of zakat (meaning Alms) on the people. He added that this should provide the government with billions of pounds if they force citizens to pay the zakat directly to the government. He then added that after Mohammed died, the people of Arabia stopped paying the zakat to the Khalifa who followed Mohammed, which forced him to fight his people to get them pay the zakat back.

Is it any wonder why all Muslim countries are an economic basket case and if it was not for oil, even Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Emirates would be among the poorest nations on earth?

These preachers of hate and genocide are the face of Islam today and an embarrassing example of how disconnected Muslim religious leaders are today. That is why I left that religion all together. When will the West wake up?

Muslim Sensibilities? Please!

Sunday May 1, 2011 was a great day in America and it should have been a great day for freedom-loving, peaceful, compassionate people all over the world. Why was Sunday May 1 such a great day for America and civilization? The world's most wanted was killed. Shot dead! Removed from the land of the living. Sent off to receive his eternal punishment. His body fed to the fishes. Swallowed up in Davy Jones's locker. Osama Bin Laden has left the planet for good. And that is a good thing.

Our military however was forced to give this murdering madman a 40-minute solemn Muslim ceremony out of respect for Muslim sensibilities. Well, I thought Osama Bin Laden was not recognized in the Muslim community as a Islamic figure. I thought he represented a "fringe" group of radical Muslims; therefore why should the mainstream Muslim community care a whit if one of these radical, religious zealots was eliminated from the planet? They should be cheering along with the rest of the world that this murdering madman was KIA. Apparently this is not the case. No one can do anything without first checking with a Muslim cleric to see if it is acceptable and does not offend their sensibilities.

I mean seriously, did we dignify Adolf Hitler with a fine Christian burial? I can understand respect for the dead, but for a madman who thinks so little of innocent human life that he ordered the mass murder of thousands on 9-11? I am sorry but I have very little respect for such a lowlife.

Should we pause every time we sentence a child killer or mass murderer to check and see how his family or religion feels about a death sentence? Should we give him a place of honor in our ceremonies? Should we make laws to be sure that we do not insult his sensibilities?

Where were the Muslim sensibilities to the thousands of innocent human lives snuffed out on 9-11? Why must the United States have to travel halfway around the world to take out their garbage? Why aren't these peace-loving, sensitive, Isl?mic clerics outraged at the killing of innocent victims by a madman? Why is there no outcry from these Muslim Clerics to the mass murdering of Christians in their own backyards? Why are these nations not cleaning up their own houses before throwing stones at ours?

Do not give me this Muslim sensibilities nonsense. They showed no sensibility to the victims of 9-11 when they proposed a huge mosque be built in the shadow of Ground Zero. They did not bother to check with the victims' families to see how they might feel about this huge Muslim presence on top of the ashes of their loved ones.

Why not release the pictures of the now deceased Osama Bin Laden? The newspapers released pictures of American soldiers killed by Muslims. I even recall the pictures of Saddam Hussein's hanging. I really do not give a rip how these Muslims feel about the United States' actions in regards to Bin Laden. The only thing I want the radical Muslims to feel is fear. I want to so awaken their sensibilities that they think twice about ever attacking an America citizen anywhere in the world ever again. I want them to fear the full force of our military breathing down their collective necks every time they even whisper a threat toward the United States. I would like to plaster their Mosques with huge posters of a dead Osama with the stern warning that this is what happens to radical Muslims who kill innocent Americans.

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE! Preferably dead, thank you very much. Tell me, how much better off would the world be if there were fewer Osama bin Ladens around? How much better off would the world be if all radical Muslim jihadists were reduced to a minority?

In all fairness every society has its share of bad seeds, but the Middle East is drunk on the blood of Muslims killed by other Muslims. This blood lust has gone on for centuries; even before America was a nation Muslims were killing Muslims. Today the Middle East is aflame with Muslim-on-Muslim violence. Christians are marked for extermination; Israel is a target for annihilation. Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Tunisia, Somalia – the list is large of the Muslim nations whose histories are marred by bloodshed. From all accounts this would seem to be the norm for these Islamic nations.

Where there is a semblance of peace the population cowers in fear of their government, because dissenters are murdered in the streets, killed by their own government authorities. Women are treated like property and fathers are permitted to stone their own daughters to death in some Muslim societies. Truth be told that kind of behavior offends my sensibilities.

Attempts to Christianize Muslim cultures are met with fierce opposition, persecution, imprisonment, and death. These bloodthirsty murderers roam about seeking whom they may devour and justify it as defending Islam. They cry offense while murdering anyone whttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifho dares challenge their prophet or religion.

Well then Muslim sensibilities be damned. Do unto them as they have done unto others. Let them be judged according to their own actions. If they want respect and understanding perhaps they should show the same to others. Like Jesus said, "All who take up a sword will perish by a sword." (Matthew 26:25 HCS) Perhaps that will offend some Muslim sensibilities as well. So be it!
